The National Injury Mortality Surveillance System (NIMSS) is a South African Medical Research Council (MRC) and Unisa project. The main purpose of the project is to provide “access to NIMSS data to anyone who needs information on injury magnitude and patterns in South Africa”. UCS was contracted by Unisa to collect and capture epidemiological data from Forensic Pathology Services (FPS) in Gauteng and Mpumalanga Provinces.
